When we started Smartbuy a year ago, its mix of subjects was chosen to endow this lifestyle magazine with a uniqueness. One that will ultimately provide you, the reader, with the most comprehensive reviews of products and services, both affordable and aspirational, which require expert advice before making a purchase decision.

The effort has shown every week, for the past 52, that readers want a magazine that goes beyond the peripheral and offers greater detail into the three product categories that we all often need insight into for making an informed choice. Along the way, as we came up with the first media reviews of many gadgets, cars and luxury and fashion trends, we discovered that our wine and watch columns were surprising winners too amongst readers.

We've packed this special 1st anniversary issue with many firsts. The first reviews of a laptop fit for off-roading, a unique luxury eco-resort, a completely refreshed luxury sports utility vehicle and a review of the first console game developed and produced in India for a global audience with an Indian theme. There is more. As a treat for watch lovers, this week our columnist takes us inside the haloed portals of the world.s oldest, most dynamic watch company, which, incidentally, was also the maker of the world.s first watch.
